Summary/Abstract: Psychoanalytic psychotherapy in children and adolescents is an important therapeutic modality with a similar development as psychoanalysis in the area of theory and practice. Authors mention original ideas of A. Freud, M. Klein and other psychoanalysts who influenced child psychotherapy. They address present topics too, such as the matter of the indication of child patients for psychotherapy, the aspects of the therapeutic proces, the role of parents and the problems of the counter-transference of the therapist.
