Democracy and the Aspect of Contemporary Military Asymmetry

Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to describe contemporary armed combat and its place within contemporary inter-civilisation relations, focusing on who by and in what type of wars armed combat is conducted. Having explained the dependencies between the notions of conflict and war, and analyses the reactions of democratic states to armed conflict, it further considers the effects of democratisation of violence and asymmetry of war.
