TECHNOLOGICAL, MORPHOLOGICAL AND STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF A POTTERY ASSEMBLAGE FROM THE PRECUCUTENI SETTLEMENT OF ISAIIA (IAȘI COUNTY)

Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the topic of prehistoric pottery, through the technological, morphological and stylistic analysis of an assemblage of 2037 fragments, representing the entire ceramic inventory of the dwelling no. 7 from the Precucuteni II-III settlement of Isaiia, Iași county. Features such as color and treatment of the surfaces, the ceramic matrix, inclusions, ornamentation techniques and firing were considered and coded, after which statistical data were extracted to establish the general features of the ceramics of a single habitation unit. Finally, several considerations are made regarding the technological and cultural choices of prehistoric potters in ceramic processing.
