Summary/Abstract: The article presents the archeological diggings of the old location of the medieval village of Dumbrăveni, Suceava County. The area is called Sălişte, the toponym indicating the place where there has been a settling for the first time in the Middle Ages ( XIVth century). On this occasion, it has been discovered the pit of a former small manifacturing shop, with two partitions. In the pit, there were subsequently thrown vessel fragments and animal bones, becoming a junkyard. There are also presented medieval documents connected to this village and there are also discussions about the foundation of the medieval state of Moldavia.
