Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. In the article is described A. Kozarenko’s creative work is described. Kozarenko is a well-known Ukrainian modern composer of the XX century. Kozarenko’s music style includes many aspects. The main feature of his musical language is expressed in national elements, such as the Hutsul stylistic and archetypes. In the research is outlined semantics of Kozarenko masterworks. It contains a lot of symbols, signs and national archetypes. The aim of this article is to describe the genre, stylistic and expression features in Kozarenko music works. Also, the research emphasizes the attention on formulating function of the Hutsul folk elements in a composer’s creative manner. A methodology of research predicts by using analytical, theoretical and generalizing science methods. Science novelty of article represents a conceptual analysis of music compositions in the stylistic and archetypical context. Those artistic features outlined national dominant of Kozarenko composer’s style. The music structure in Kozarenko piano cycle of pieces «Pysanky» presents an original interpretation of the Hutsul folklore elements. Conclusions: a Bright national style of Kozarenko music creates new semantic, which contains deeply archetypical experience and effects to the musically expressive parameters, such as melody, rhythmic, harmony, and timbre. The Hutsul stylistic is important in formulating infamous material masterworks of Kozarenko, for example, «Ukrainian Requiem», «Concerto Rutheno» and piano cycle «Pysanky». The cymbals timbre role is divided into two functions in «Concerto Rutheno»: firstly, it creates expressive, authentic character to music structure, secondly, the cymbals timbre acts as a national sound symbol. Semantics and the stylistic basis of «Concerto Rutheno» followed by common genre of the Hutsul folklore, so-called kolomyjka. Kolomyjka’s influence caused genre contrast in «Concerto Rutheno» because it includes two different genre models – slow song and fast dance. Those special features of kolomyjka influenced genre, timbre and music structure of «Concerto Rutheno» and many others masterpieces by Kozarenko. Key role in Kozarenko’s music language plays folklore dominant, except the Hutsul authentic music tradition. Also, Kozarenko used modern composer’s methods and techniques; it adds particular expression to his musical language and new embodiment of the Hutsul elements.
