Stages of the formation of professional folk-instrumental performances in Ukraine

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article. The research is related to the definition of the main formation stages of the professional school of the folk instrumental performing in Ukraine; this research deals with the analysis of the origin and historical path of the development of professional performance and playing the folk instruments, paying attention to the influence of certain sociocultural and political factors. The methodology of the research is to apply historical and cultural, comparative and art-study methods. This comprehensive methodological approach provides the opportunity for a complete and systematic investigation of the viewing problem. The scientific novelty of the work lies in a systematic and historical review of the main development stages of the professional performances of the folk instrumental school and the identification of the sociocultural causes of the artistic phenomena which are being reviewed. Conclusion: Professional folk instrumental performance in Ukraine over a relatively short period of time has passed through four main stages of development, beginning from the amateur-rural type of oral music tradition to the formation of the professional musical three-level education in the field of folk instruments and the academicization of folk instrumental professional performance in Ukrainian contemporary musical art.
