Glissando on the piano keyboard as extended piano technique (for example of «Aqua Sonare» by A. Korsun)

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to consider glissando as one of the extended piano techniques and demonstration its possibilities for example of the work «Aqua Sonare» by the famous Ukrainian composer of young generation Anna Korsun. Methodology. The methodological basis of the research are methods of historical, compositional and performing analysis. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that attention paid to extended piano techniques in the works by contemporary Ukrainian composers. The work for the piano solo by A. Korsun is analyzed for the first time, methodical advice on its implementation is provided. Conclusions. Particularly important among the innovations of the 20th century was the introduction of extended techniques of playing on musical instruments. From the point of view of novelty and possibilities of the composer's embodiment of unusual images, reactions to the state of the world, a work with the instruments becomes more free and interesting. In this article, a composition for a piano solo by a Ukrainian composer is considered, an analysis of which is devoted to the performing aspect: the complexity of working with the text and the ways to overcome them.
