Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on selected institutes of inheritance law of ancient states. On the one hand points to the consistent approach of selected countries in some important areas, especially in the determination of the heirs. On the other hand emphasizes the peculiarities of inheritance law in some states caused by the specificity of the culture.
