Summary/Abstract: In order to develop unique long-lived potential of family businesses, family companies need to master generational changes, which belongs to the most difficult changes. Succession in family business is a complex and multi-aspected process with number of barriers which overcome is neuralgic and critical. Authors analyse the results of two comprehensively conducted surveys. On the basis of surveys results can be specified the key challenges and barriers in succession of Polish family businesses.
