Summary/Abstract: In this paper the focus in put on the comparison of the position of translated Herolt’s exempla in two Croatian sermon collections: glagolitic Disipuli and Divković’s Besjede. The contents comparison has shown that both pop Mihovilanf friar Matija Divković were motivated by almost the same desire to create an exclusive collection of selected sermon and the collection would not contain individual narrative collections of exempla like Herolt’s Sermones Discipuli. The research has shown that in Disipuli the accent is more often put on the text compression as well as on the highlightening of the moral lesson unlike much longer exempla in Besjede, where plenty of vivid narration and modest psychologisation of characters is in focus.
