Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article is to study the potential of the cult of Catholic icons in the tourist industry of Ukraine. The methodology of the research on the descriptive-analytical (disclosing the importance of Catholic veneration of sacred images), culturological (representing the cult of Catholic icons in the general cultural process) and comparative (comparison of individual religious practices and theological concepts) methods of scientific analysis are based. Scientific novelty. It is proposed to develop in the field of religious tourism the theme of the cult of Catholic icons in the general system of tourist offers for citizens of Ukraine and foreigners. The presented article proves the scientific relevance and practical value for the tourism market of uncovering the potential of the Roman Catholic cult, in particular with the example of individual icons, in the general context of creating an attractive and recognizable cultural and tourist image of Ukraine. Conclusions. For tourists from neighboring countries (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia), where Latin Catholicism prevails, the offer of visiting shrines in which known icons (or sculptures) are stored, is attractive in the aspect of religious practice and sentimental memories. For citizens of Ukraine, this is a tourist offer of knowing the history of the rich polyphony of Ukrainian culture. This line of work relates to promising in the tourism industry of Ukraine in the development of representative and competitive marketing strategies and offers of territorial branding.
