Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. In the information society context, the mechanism for creating a picture of the world depends almost entirely on the media. The research is devoted to revealing the manifestations of the "tourism culture" in the modern travel literature (travelogue) and media communications. The methodology of the study is to apply the culturological approach using the historical-logical method. This methodological approach allows us to discover and analyze the modern form of travel literature (travelogue) in the context of new media communications. Contemporary literary and cultural positions analyze the content of "journey." The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that modern travel literature (travelogue) is considered as a product of postmodernism, widely spread in the space of new media communications. Here are regarded as forms of postmodern travel: tourist forums, travel magazines, travel programs. The impact of modern travel on tourism and culture, in general, is assessed. Conclusions. It is noted that modern travelogue, both as a genre and as a type of periodical, fits into the process of globalization. Firstly, it leads to the unification of cultures under the influence of globalization of the mass media, and secondly - it promotes the understanding of different cultures and various local histories as a component of a particular culture. The mentioned issue is because mass tourism and the population migrations growth increase cultural interaction. The opinion is expressed that the content of the modern travelogue aimed at the formation of a new model of thinking and behavior and the species and plot diversity of the travelogue discourses testify to the inexhaustible possibilities of practical phenomenological mastery of the world.
