Summary/Abstract: General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has emerged into our lives to provide data control in a technology dominated world, and complying with this Regulation means creating the framework in order to protect the patient's personal and special information. The cyberattacks on Romanian hospitals, in June 2019, not only demonstrates the vulnerability of the healthcare system in relation to the usage of technology, but also highlights the lack of interest and involvement of hospital management to have an adequate compliance plan. In the Romanian health system the degree of compliance to the GDPR is under the 15% threshold, draws the attention Marius Dumitrescu, president of the Romanian Association of Specialists in Privacy and Data Protection (ASCPD).
