Summary/Abstract: This article is not intended to be a strict criminal investigation, it is intended rather to be a general, comparative overview of this criminal offense regulated in the Romanian criminal law of the past and insufficiently addressed at present.The right to life is the most important human right; it is an absolute, opposed erga omnes right, all members of society being compelled to respect and refrain from any action that would harm or endanger this supreme social value. This right has been protected in all times by all laws.
