Summary/Abstract: The essence of Ivan Focht constantly circles around, as he called it, the secret of music. Attempting to name it, philosopher is in a paradoxal position. Though being interpreted, secret of music evades elusively, reveals itself while hiding, and thus takes him on the path he wanted to leave behind. The paper evokes four mutually related scenes of this occurrence.
