Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the issue of financial intermediation and advisory perspectives in Poland in a comprehensive approach. In particular, the financial intermediary modelwas created with the definition of its elements and determinants affecting it. One of the most important conclusions from the text is that the change in the needs of households and their surroundings as well as the increase in the level of education and financial knowledge of the society directs financial intermediation in the direction of financial advisory. The legal regulations that separate intermediation activities from counseling activities help, indicating different competences as to the knowledge and skills of the broker and financial advisor, as well as the principles of remunerating their work (the agent receives a commissionfrom the financial institutions, the consultant receives remuneration from the client). The progressing computerization and development of modern technologies in finance create specific challenges for intermediaries and financial advisors as well as the emergence of new segments – on-line intermediation and automated financial advisory (robo-advice). Prospects for holistic financial intermediation and advisory in Poland will depend on the regulatory, macroeconomic, technological and demographic environment, the prospects of the clients of these institutions, as well as the prospects of financial products suppliersfor financial intermediaries and advisors.
