Summary/Abstract: The current market situation worldwide, internationalization and technology has caused the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), can not compete easily because they do not have sufficient knowledge and resources and tend to disappear, despite their importance in generating employment and regional development. That’s why small businesses should manage their resources more efficiently and acquire even. With the intention of making them competitive, must also generate innovation and value chains, that are sufficient to generate strategic alliances reasons, which increasingly are necessary to ensure its future growth. Innovation processes are inherent in entrepreneurial companies, SMEs need to reinvent their processes and business models, since for it will have to incorporate product development, new strategies, innovation and design, among others, and are not prepared, cooperation is fundamental. Because of the importance of these companies in the regional and national growth, it is necessary to establish strategies that allow them to place their products, either a good or a service, not only in the regional and national market but also in international markets, being the value chain to analyze a strategy to convert their activities into competitive advantages.
