Summary/Abstract: Purpose of article. The study collects and research information on the musical culture of various religious and educational centers in Lutsk, the capital of Volhynian Voivodeship. The methodology of the research applies general scientific objectivity principle, historical and logical, analytical and culturological methods. Such methodological approach allows to disclose the primary centers of religious music in Lutsk, determine their specificity, relationships, and regularity of existence. Scientific novelty expands a notion of the musical culture of the religious and educational centers of Lutsk in the XVII-XVIII centuries. Conclusions. In the result of research it is found out that in the early 20's of the XVII century the history of the musical culture of Lutsk and Volyn appears in a new light and obtains a new meaning, now it became a weapon in religious competitions. In the first half of the XVII century, the central struggle was between the Orthodox Fellowship of the True Cross, the last support of the Orthodox citizens of Lutsk, and the local Jesuits. Initially, the choir of Orthodox Fellowship won in this battle, but later the Lutsk Jesuits introduced the instrumental chapel existed in early XVII century. Few musicians sang in the parish church, but they also claimed the expenses that the church itself could not make. The central government in a person of the Volyn Voivode came to help it. A presence of a singer from the local Greek Catholic bishop which is unique on the first third of the XVII century. In the second half of the XVIII century, the most significant religious chapel was maintained by the Dominican monastery where before that usual musical and liturgical practice was held.
