Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Research. The purposes of the article are to define the landmark events of creative formation of the People’s actress of Ukraine Gizela Tsipola and to determinate the features of the interpretation of opera images in the singer’s work. Methodology. The methodology of the article is based on systematic approach and a historical and logical interpretation of the facts. The following methods are combined: concrete search – for the purpose of the systematic analysis of foreign and Ukrainian historical, musicological and methodical literature; chronological – for definition of the main events G. Tsipola’s creative formation in the context of the development of domestic vocal art of the XX century; logical and synthetic – for the purpose of comparative analysis of information from the used sources and publications. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty is represented by the following provisions: 1) for the first time in the scientific literature, the creative evolution of Gizela Tsipola is completely highlighted; 2) the place of the singer’s creative personality in the context of the development of domestic vocal art of the twentieth century is determined; 3) the features of scenic interpretation of opera images in the artist’s work are analyzed. Conclusions. In article the life and the career of the People's actress of Ukraine and the USSR Gizela Tsipola are investigated; the scattered information, collected from various publications, is for the first time concentrated and completely highlighted in chronological statement.
