Summary/Abstract: In this article the author tackles the problems associated with building links between higher education and business. Particular attention is paid to knowledge as a determinant of achieving above-average efficiency. Emphasizes that an important condition for the efficient functioning of the economy is the creation of effective cooperation between higher education and future employers. The author presents the results of research showing interest in primates company directors scientific literature in the field of management science and expectations of current employees in managerial positions in one of the largest manufacturing plants in Bialystok and students of the Higher School of Management in Bialystok as future competent managers.
