Summary/Abstract: Financial advice in the area of personal finance in Poland is an example of professional services and provided according to certain rules and ethics of the profession has positive effects on the macro- and microeconomic level, preventing problems in the social scale (financial exclusion, excessive debt, irresponsible investing). The initial stage of the development of this type of service in Poland is that neither the regulations nor the ethical principles are developed and respected, which raises the specific risks and the cost to the clients of financial advisors and the wider economy. Examining the international context for the development of the industry advisory indicates that the most developed financial markets advisors play an important role - for example, in the US use the services of consultants every third household (35.5 million). EU regulations on consumer protection in financial services go towards determining individual financial consulting expertise and comprehensive financial advice is and will remain the domain of self-regulation by economic self-government organizations advisors.
