The Risk of Bankruptcy and Demographic Features of the Enterprises from Transport, Forwarding and Logistic Sector in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The objective of this paper is to identify of the demographic features of bankrupt business entities from transport, forwarding and logistic sector. The research hypothesis formulated in order to achieve the objective of the paper took the form of the following statement: the young, micro and small road freight transport enterprises show a higher risk of bankruptcy in comparison to other companies from the TSL sector in Poland. The results of research revealed that the typical company which is threatened with bankruptcy is also a micro enterprise with the key activity of the road freight transport and service activities connecting with removals, that exist on the market longer than 5 years.
