Summary/Abstract: The purpose of comparative research in the paper is the level, directions of changesand structure of the financial distress of going concern and bankruptcy in small and medium enterprises in Poland in 2007–2017. The objects (sections of the Polish Classification of Activities) of analysed macrostructures, their classification and profiling were conducted. The research methodologyis based on the multidimensional logit model for predicting the financial s distress of corporate activities (originality), ranking and analysis of profiles on the basis of selected features of researched macrostructures. As a result of the research, it has been confirmed the features and profiles of researched macrostructures in terms of the degree of financial distress, rank positionsand their variability. The effect of research is the verification of tree research hypotheses. The research was conducted into the total community of small and medium–sized enterprises (rarity).The dynamic approach was applied in comparative analyses of the financial distress (uniqueness).
