Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze possible activities that enrolling into the age management strategy. Actions that can support enterprises in the processes of adapting to theconditions dictated by the labor market. The analysis of the labor market in Poland allows observation of at least two key trends from the point of view of the company's strategy regarding human resources. The first of these is the fact that, there is a continuing process of an aging population. Thus, the number of people employed in the enterprise in the age that determines the thinking about retirement increases. The process of retiring may mean the phenomenon of"emigration of the competences " outside of the enterprise - often irretrievably. Therefore, the challenge for Polish enterprises in the coming years is to extend the professional activity of people, especially the human resources of enterprises included in the group of 50+ people. The second trend, disadvantageous from the point of view of enterprises, is high professional mobility of young people and related emigration abroad. It applies in particular to people with high formal and practical competences. Both tendencies will be the basis for increasing the gap, both quantitative and competency in Polish enterprises. The strategy of age management within the framework of the article is understood as the total of managerial actions undertaken in the field of human resources management, serving to exploit the full potential of these resources conditioned by the age structure in the present and long-term horizon. The article is based on a systematic review of literature, analysis of secondary data on the labormarket and demographics in Poland and Europe, participant observation of the authors of German solutions during a study visit, related to the implementation of age management tools in local companies, and qualitative research in the form of a focused group interview among participants representing institutions participating in the Local Partnership for Age Management in enterprises in the Podlasie Voivodship.
