Summary/Abstract: Human resources competences can be key success factors for business development. The progressing level of internationalization, necessity to manage culturally diverse international teams, or growing need for knowledge management in the organization in the context of business innovation, indicates a new scope of management competence. Based on the results of the research, article presents a description of the current competences and their role in the creation of competitive enterprises position, as well as competence gaps, causes of their occurrence and ways of their reduction.
