Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to present the meaning and role of tourism in the lives of older people, as well as to show preferences, behaviors and tourist expectations of seniors. The research was carried out among 1143 people aged 60 and over. ¼ of respondents did not participate in tourist trips at all. The main reason was the lack of need or desire for such trips. The remaining part of the respondents participated in tourism. Most often, they traveled 2–3 times a year. These were domestic short-term trips (1–3 nights). The most often mentioned goal of the trips was rest and visiting relatives and friends. The respondents preferred trips with their spouses and friends. Most often they traveled in the spring and summer, and the destination of their trips was usually the sea and the mountains. The most important criterion for selecting the offer was the price. In the hope of minimizing it, the majority of respondents organized trips individually.
