Summary/Abstract: Mihai Viteazul and the Serbian Captain Baba Novac (1596-1601). The paper deals with the close collaboration between two leading personalities of South-East European history at the threshold of the 16th-17th centuries, within the framework of the late crusade: Mihai Viteazul (1593-1601) and Baba Novac. The former was one of the most important Romanian rulers, who joined the Christian League and successfully resisted the Turks and whose name is connected to the first political unification of the three Romanian countries (1600). Baba Novac was one of his faithful and constant collaborators.
