Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the results of direct research on meaning of psychic distance factors in making decisions about internationalization. The methodology of research focus on critical literature overview in international business, marketingand management field presenting the concept psychic distance and its dimensions. Direct research was conducted on the sample of 251 Polish companies engagedin the process of internationalization. The direct research was conducted with the use of direct interview technique. As the results of critical literature overview the conceptualization and operationalization of psychic distance has been performed. The research allowed to identify the meaning of psychic distance dimensions influencing taking decisions about internationalization, the most important are the differences in politicaland economic systems. The originality of research constitute the preparation of method, interview’s questions and choice of scales enabling the measurement of meaning of psychic distance dimensions in companies’ internationalization
