Summary/Abstract: Although the Silk Road is a legacy of history, when we talk about the Belt and Road initiative, we should pay more attention to its contemporary values. The process of cross-cultural communication of Chinese aesthetics can be divided into three stages: “fascination and reproduction”, “variation and re￾production” and “symbolization and artisticization”. The three stages show that “sharing beauty” is the contemporary meaning of cross-cultural communication in Chinese aesthetics.
