Items of Stress Structure in the Accounting Profession

Summary/Abstract: The Purpose − this article aims to identify and assess the scale of stress or areas inaccounting profession and, consequently, their impact on the functioning of an enterprise.The research methods − the key research method in this article is the analysis of the respective literature, the analysis of the results of available studies on psychology of stress in relevant professions, identification of the affected areas, the assessment of the scale of stressor areas based on a qualitative study, and inference as well.The findings − the analysis reveals the stressor areas in the accounting profession as well as the cognitive gap in Polish research. The scale of stressor areas in the accounting profession was investigated. The general ways of dealing with stress were also presented. The main conclusions − the results of deliberations should determine the direction of further research in the field of enterprise management, taking into account the aspects of psychology of stress for accountant practitioners. The article presents identified areas that generate stress in the accounting profession and the consequences of its occurrence on the functioning of an enterprise.
