Summary/Abstract: BSC is the basis of a strategy-oriented organization. It is a proven tool for measuring and performance reporting. This tool translates the mission and strategy into goals and a system of measures compiled in four perspectives: financial, market, process and development. The aim of the article is to show the path to BSC, its essence, structure, way of functioning, conditions of effectiveness, benefits that BSC brings. The article uses the analysis of available literature and inference. The article is also based on the author’s own experience related to the propagation of the BSC idea and its implementation.
