Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to determine the role of the tools of environmental managementin organic food distribution. The research method used in this paper is a survey performed using CATI (Computer Aided Telephone Interview) technique. There are two relevant concepts introduced in this paper: environmental managementin supply chain and organic food distribution. The importance of environmental managementin supply chain results from increasing environmental awareness of consumers and their requirements regarding environmental information, especially food products. The organic food distribution as a part of the organic food supply chain is significant because of the growing demand for healthy, highly nutritional food. Firstly, the concept of environmental management in the supply chain is outlined. Secondly, the tools of environmental management in the supply chain are defined. Next, the characteristics of organic food distribution are introduced. Then, the research descriptionand results are given. In the end, the conclusions and final remarks are presented. The results of the study concern the scope of using widely known environmental tools in organic food distribution.
