Summary/Abstract: Integration into the European Union is a complex, long, and step-by-step process which involves normative and institutional dimensions. Among other things, it is necessary to adopt a legal framework for European integration and establish a functional system of administration, suitable for fulfilling the obligations that EU membership entails. Strategic aim of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to become a full member of this organization. After concluding the Stabilization and Accession Agreement, relations with the EU are regulated by an international agreement which requires Bosnia and Herzegovina to harmonize its legal system with acquis communautaire. Apart from adopting European norms, harmonization of regulations involves adoption of modern legal institutions and making an adequate framework of public administration.
