Summary/Abstract: An act which put the enterprises under obligation to correct tax deductible expenses in case of overdue invoices, was in force in Poland between 2013 and 2015. One of the aims of such regulations was a considerable limitation of payment gridlocks and the improvement of financial liquidity of enterprises. The implemented changes proved to be favourable only for the State Treasury. The repercussions of these changes were felt mainly by small and medium-sized enterprises, where the implementation of additional technical solutions increased the business costs. The article, based on the analysis of financial liquidity and payment gridlocks, pointed out that the intended aim of the regulations was not achieved. Waiving the obligation to correct tax deductible expenses in 2016 was fully justifiable.
