The Picture of China in the Medieval South-Slavic Text "The Kingdom of Prester John"

Summary/Abstract: The paper describes the South-Slavic version of the medieval legend about the “Kingdom of Prester John”, legendary Christian ruler of the East. It is believe that this legend is the only European text about the far East before Marco Polo's book. A fragment of the text sheds light on some cultural realities related to China, such as the silk production and mining of asbestos.
