Summary/Abstract: The concept of sustainable tourism takes into account the objectives and principles of sustainable development, and its basis is to achieve harmony between the needs of tourists, local communities and the natural environment. Tourism is a source of economic prosperity for many sectors of the economy and the largest generator of jobs in the world. For many regions, tourism is a key factor in socio-economic activation, contributing to the reduction of unemployment, income growth, infrastructure development, as well as raising the level and quality of life. Ensuring employment in tourism while supporting local communities is one of the leading activities of sustainable tourism policy. Employment in tourism is often associated with raising the well-being of the local community, because the residents of the reception areas are employees of facilities or entrepreneurs offering tourism services. Creating jobs as an element of sustainable tourism concerns not only local governments but also many other stakeholders of tourism development on the local market. In regions where sustainable tourism policy is conducted, there is a visible increase in employment and improvement of the quality of life of their inhabitants.
