Summary/Abstract: Following the effects of Theresian decree of tolerance from 1759 in the world of Transylvanian Romanian village we registered manifestation forms of confessional disputes during the riot of Sofronie from Cioara, from the written or verbal violence to the physical one but also the cohabitation ways, of the adaptation of the priests and parishioners to the new ecclesiastical situation. The investigation made possible the comparisons between defining the idea of confessional tolerance within Aulic environments, its expression in legal, juridical formulas and empiric perception of this idea at rural parochial level.
