Summary/Abstract: Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is becoming increasingly important in building relationships between enterprises and their stakeholder groups. The idea of CSR in special economic zones (SEZ) should focus on taking into account the interests of the local community and exerting a positive influence on the environment. The article – based on the short outline of the conception of corporate social responsibility and some aspects of special economic zones – raises the issue of social engagement of privileged zones functioning in Poland. The purpose of the article was to check whether special economic zones have a social impact in relation to their stakeholders, which is the local community, local administration and employees of these enterprises.
