Summary/Abstract: Martial arts are a systematized organization and traditions of combat practices that are practiced for a number of reasons: self-defense, military action, justice, mental and spiritual development and entertainment and even as preservation of the intangible cultural heritage of the country. Nowadays modern martial arts are known only for the self-defense side, certain movements to cultivate vital principles or self-cultivation or the mastery of ancient weapons for aesthetic purpose or to improve health. This is a modern point of view that is in contradiction with most of the earlier practices. In the context of Ancient China, martialarts can only be seen as military techniques and strategies to tackle the enemy, which are immediately influencing and are the beginning of the martial arts we know today.
