Summary/Abstract: Traditional handicrafts existing within Turkish culture are in continuous development and change. The reason for this change is the vital needs of the people living in society that are increasingly different every passing day. Masters is ensure the sustainability of traditional handicrafts. In addition to the cultural background gained from the previous generation, the masters made functional productions in accordance with the needs of the period by adding personal comments to the products. Traditional handicrafts which meet the needs of societies and live with them are indispensable elements of socio-cultural life with their long-established backgrounds."Traditions" are one of the most important features that give a society a different identity and distinguish it from others. Traditions become permanent in society by taking part in life for many years. They become part of cultural riches by being transferred from generation to generation. Clothing clothes which is one of the most vital needs, has taken other functions over time. Jewelry which is used in special occasions and forms an important element of clothing; as well as their position in society, their economic and social status, as well as their marital status and ethnic identity.Trabzon and its surroundings are a rich in traditional arts. The Kazaziye/kazaz art is one of these cultural riches. Kazaziye, which is one of the ancient arts, is one of the activities where local women contribute to their family budgets by producing in workshops or at home. Kazaziye; It is a handicraft which means silk work and requires special skill. The master who makes the Kazaziye art is called the Kazaz.In this study, the historical process and the techniques of the art of gaining, which are made with gold and silver wires in Trabzon, will be investigated.
