Summary/Abstract: The article presents the translation and adaptation procedures for the Romanianlanguage and population, as well as the validation procedure of the Social Anxiety Scale forAdolescents (SAS-A). The scale measures the level of social anxiety in three aspects: a) fear ofnegative evaluation, which translates into fear, worry, concern about negative evaluations fromothers, b) avoidance in new situations or with new people, including social avoidance and suffering/ unhappiness in new situations and unknown persons, c) a total avoidance, reflecting social distresson the whole, discomfort and tendency towards inhibition.
