Summary/Abstract: The following article presents the history of St Mark’s Monastery, belonging to the Order of Augustinian Hermits. The paper examines the history of the foundation, the donations made by knights and noblemen, the issues of forming the estate in the villages of Podgórzno and Piława Dolna as well as the profiles of the monks connected with the local monastery. The monastery was liquidated in 1525 as a result of the Reformation. The monks, however, sold the estate of the monastery and that is why they had no chance to regain their property in Dzierżoniów and its environs.
