Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the picture of the post-apocalyptic man and world based on Komornik[Bailiff] by Michał Gołkowski and Starość aksolotla [The Old Axolotl] by Jacek Dukaj – the novelswritten by two of the most popular Polish science fiction and fantasy writers. It shows the causesof the apocalypse in these books and how the post-apocalyptic world is changing. It also describesand analyses the motives behind the protagonists’ approach, what they are missing and how theyaffect the post-apocalyptic world.
