Summary/Abstract: Autonomous vehicles pose several interesting problems regarding general liability and, especially, criminal liability. The problems arise from the fact that fully autonomous vehicles, unlike normal vehicles, do not have a human driver, in control of the car. Therefore, who is responsible if the car crashes, killing a pedestrian? If artificial intelligence causes harm, who is to blame? The present article studies the current national and international legislation and tries to determine who is liable in these cases. Furthermore, the present study will also try to make some future law proposals, as to better suit the upcoming cars.
