Summary/Abstract: Demographical changes such as ageing of society force to undertake actions which will reduce the negative effects of these processes. One ways to deal with reducing numbers of employees is to extend the retirement age. Legislative changes in this field entail  necessity of changes in HRM practices. It becomes challenge to design and implement solutions which take into account the differences in the functioning of workers of different ages. The aim of the present study is to demonstrate the relationship between the preferred age of retirement and the level of involvement of employees and to determine the strength of this relationship. The study involved three groups of employees. The first group were workers between 35 and 44 years old, the second group: 45-54 years old, the third group: 55 to 64 years old. Statistical analysis of the results allowed to determine the level of involvement in each age group, preferences regarding retirement age and the relationship between these variables.
