Summary/Abstract: U.S. terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 made the whole world aware of terrorism’s magnitude. After the initial shock, the European Union (EU) began to take measures to make effective the fight against this threat. EU efforts to fight terrorism have resulted in a number of strategies and programs such as the European Security Strategy, The Hague Programme: Ten priorities for the next five years. the Counterterrorism strategy etc.. Despite the progress made by the EU in the fight against this flagellum, it remains a constant threat to the European security.
