Summary/Abstract: The internal regulatory competencies of the European Union have their counterpart in the competences to enter into the international treaties with third subjects. But as in the internal competencies, the Union can not act alone. Consequently, the mixed agreements evolved with the Union and the member states on the one side and the third state(s) and/or international organizations on the other. This article review the whole process of the drawing up of the mixed agreement from the point of raising the idea of concluding such treaty, through the negotiations and conclusion of the text to the final stages of internal and international ratification. The focus is on the roles and relations among the organs of the European Union and the particular member state – the Czech Republic.
