Summary/Abstract: In 2018, on the initiative and with the financial support of the executive committee of the Tatarbunary Town Council of Odessa Region, the expedition of the Department of Archeology of the Crimea and the North-Western Black Sea Coast of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, led by the author of this article, conducted historical and archaeological research in the Tatarbunary Fortress. In the course of this research, an analysis of written sources was performed, the ruins visible on the surface were identified and examined, and small-scale protective and search excavations were carried out. It was concluded that the Ottoman fortress was built in 1624-1628 and ceased to exist in 1770.
