Problems of Municipal Logistics in Range of Vehicles’ Parking  Service

Summary/Abstract: The dynamic increase of number of vehicles moving on roads, caused by their larger accessibility, rise in level of inhabitants’ life, fashions as well as the growth of society expectations in range of comfort of life, makes new demands for municipal logistics and is the source of many problems. Problems relating to parking, especially in centers of big cities, belong to the group of the biggest of them. The reason of such state is first of all too tight buildings of cities, not taking into account the norms, which concern the number of car parks to the number of occupants either to office or commercial surface in new projects, the lack of cities’ plans of spatial management etc. The aim of the article is presenting the most important problems connected with location and functioning car parks in large cities, including Park and Ride car parks, and parking zones in their centres. The investigation have been based on the author’s observations as well as the analysis of scientific literature in this field. The list of the most important issues which should be considered making decisions in the range of municipal logistics and traffic engineering were received as the result.
