Summary/Abstract: With the development of a competitive economy, there has been a demand not only for new products or new manufacturing solutions - technology requires that each employee was the creator of innovation. What does this mean for higher education? Does the ethos of the university in this case correspond to the needs of the socio-economic state? With the education of attitudes the transfer of a theoretical knowledge is also needed to build pro-innovation attitudes among young people who will be able to meet the needs of employers, among whom polls show more consideration not only to the knowledge about certain skills and attitudes of what is creativity, but also to the mutual trust and willingness to change. The article aims to analyze the innovative character of Polish universities and its various dimensions, eg. from education programs to the specific examples of pro-innovation initiatives undertaken in the areas of science-business.
